So, Brett Favre’s longevity retired, seemingly this time for good. The future Hall of Fame lock is more about longevity and his amazing durability, starting in 269 regular season games in a row. At his position? This is truly a testimony to the toughness demonstrated when he had a couple of yards of intestines removed when in college and playing shortly there after. Say what you will about Brett's retiring every year for the past four and turning each year into a soap opera. Put his over-the-top stats aside and you have a guy who was popular with his teammates and opponents alike. The Packers GM and head coach may not be on that list. Whatever. So what does Brett do now? My 3-year old grandson, Jackson, would like for Favre to hang out with him everyday, since he is the biggest Brett Favre fan on the planet. I know this because he has a Jets jersey with a No. 4 on the back that he wears every day. But that aside, the question now is which TV network will pay for his services, because, after all, Favre is this year's flavor to join either Fox, CBS, ESPN or the NFL Network in the studio or in the booth. Let's examine Brett's credentials for the media: He's Brett Favre! Any questions? How about Jim Nantz, Phil Simms and Favre? Or Joe Buck, Troy Aikman and Favre? Or maybe Bob Papa, Cris Collinsworth and Favre? No, I've got it, Mike Tirico, Ron Jaworski, Tony Kornheiser and Favre! The Monday Night schedule could have 2 games since that's how much yaking we would have. So the quartet wouldn't physically be at every game, they can do it off the monitor. Brett can talk about how many animals he killed when hunting during the offseason and make references to his lengthy career, game-by-game, for 269 telecasts in a row, of course. Obviously, this tongue in cheek. What I strongly suggest, in all seriousness, is that they don't throw Brett Favre to the wolves and train him before he begins, and not just for a little while. He deserves that and he has earned that. Want proof? Emmitt Smith and countless other athletes before him.
