A few things that have been on my mind and now's the time to bring them up.

Issue No. 1 -- The NFL has recently concluded the annual meat-market sale, AKA the NFL Draft. This year was particularly interesting because of the uncertainty of who was going where, except for the No. 1 overall pick, Mathew Stafford, to the Detroit Lions. Stafford signed the day before the draft for almost $40 million in guaranteed money. What other industry does a young man get more money than players who have been in the NFL far longer? Does a graduate of Harvard Law make more money than the partners in the law firm right out of college? No! Do the graduates of medical school make more than the doctor who's been practicing for 10 years? No! In any other walk of life, do you get paid more with less experience? No! This issue will most certainly be addressed during the collective bargaining discussions in the near future and hopefully rectified. My question is why has it taken so long to be addressed?

Issue No. 2 -- The book about the life and times of Alex Rodriquez is due out soon, and we will read about A-Rod using performance enhancing drugs during his days with the Texas Rangers. And now we will read about his taking those same steroids while in high school. OK, enough already! I get it. He used drugs and that's not right from a competitive edge point-of-view. Why don't we have the names of the others that did the same thing, and why is Rodriquez constantly answering the same questions when reporters aren't learning anything new? And after a while, who cares? People are still going to the ballpark in record numbers even though the sport is tainted. The fans pay ridiculous prices to watch what used to be America's Pastime, and they don't care who's putting what into who's body.

Issue No. 3 -- Why is everyone piling on A-Rod when Plaxico Burress is ignored by comparison? This idiot took a loaded gun into a night club and shot himself in the leg, and teams like the NY Jets have shown interest in Burress even though he may not see the football field for a year or more. Only for the grace of God did Burress shoot himself instead of some innocent bystander. I'm not the only one that sees these things; I'm just the guy writing about it.
